SG exists to help further student success at Michigan Tech. Most people know us for our role in allocating the student activity fee, but we’re so much more than that. Our members have had a role in everything from selecting the dean of the College of Engineering to sitting on the committee that determined Michigan Tech will be going tobacco free in 2013.
I
nterested in getting involved? Elections for representative positions are held in the spring of every year. USG also welcomes students interested in getting involved, but not interested in the election process, to pursue an associate membership. Associate members are welcome at meetings, attend office hours, and give their input on important discussions. However, because they are not elected associate members can not vote.
